Works fine as a remote

I dont use my AV receiver remote anymore because of this. It doesnt recognize my tv providers tho but Im not really interested in that function anyways. The remote function by itself was worth it for me

Need improvement

Need to add Bell satellite. Also need to have a setting to open directly to the remote, and not the TV guide. I want this app for the remote. Not the guide.

Kind of sort of works

Doesnt let me push youtube videos to the tv

Like the idea

I like to use it, I can set alarms to my favourite shows, but the channel list that you can add it is only 100 channels no more.

Buggy connection to tv

Wish this could connect to my tv as quickly and consistently as the old remote app did.

Doesnt work!

Why advertise the app on a product (PS3/4) when your app doesnt support that product. Just wastes my time.

Like it

I like it. My Bravia smart tv isnt supported, but the guide is good. It would be a little easier on the eyes if it were white text on black background, or to have an option. Also a lot of the channel logos are white and they dont show up well.

Horrible

Terrible app. Loses connection to Blu-Ray player on either the iPhone or iPad if you open any other app while connected. Then says unable to connect. Old Media Remote app works just fine and was rock solid. This one is useless. Ended up deleting it and reinstalling Media Remote.

not supported for new TV

I have a KDL-60EX645. It is a smart TV <1.5 year old. Why is this not supported by this software?

No longer works

I actually liked the app. Easy to use and does exactly what it needs to, but it no longer displAys the content.

The app keeep crashing after update

A good idea poorly implemented

The app looks great and has a lot of potential but unfortunately cannot tune in the channels properly which makes it pretty much useless. When tapping on a channel or tv show, instead of tuning in to 2.1 it will dial in 21, giving you a whole lot of tv static. Hoping they will fix it soon!

Good app, more default options needed

The app is great, but for many of us it is only for the remote portion as I have no way of using many of the features such as the TV guide. It would be nice to see the devs allow the home screen option of remote, so that when I open the app its the remote. It would also be nice if I could turn on my tv from the app, currently says I need to turn on TV to use....although like all network devices, its still on and listening as its only standby... PS3 and PS4 remote option would be really cool too, even though Bravia link kinda allows that to happen...

Works awesome!

I had some trouble with it before and couldnt get it to turn the tv on, but then realized that when I set it up I didnt select remote turn on. And now it works like daddy is coming home!!

Needs to be more intuitive

Prior to purchasing the dn1050 receiver I had a onkyo txnr509. With it I could use the onkyo remote 2 app. I have no issues with the receiver itself but I think aony should look at the onkyo app as a potential benchmark. Improvements needed 1. I cant even turn on the device remotely half the time. I like to have music playing as I get ready for work and cant use the app to start this process. 2. See what I am doing. The input toggle is just a plus minus. Nowhere on the app can I see what the current input is or the options I am cycling through. On the onkyo app it shows me this. 3. Emulate the on screen menu on the app. Onkyo does this and with Sonys better menu (one of the reasons I opted for the dn1050) I should be able to see not only what I am changing as per above but also sound field info and a device summary screen. 4. Onkyo app allowed me to see fav stations for tunein or xm. I could scroll through a list and select what I wanted. Cant do that on this app. This app is a glorified remote. You still need to be in front of the tv screen to get any feedback info from the receiver. Onkyo brings this info to my phone screen. I think Sony needs to do the same.

STR-DN1040

Couldnt agree more with the above review. Here I was thinking I was all spoiled because I had a remote app for my IPhone and I hear the Onkyo can do all that. So sad. Im currently finding a bug where the app will not remember the channels I selected for the guide. I get 30 listings for channel 1 and then the guide starts, somewhat. Every time I edit the channels, it wont remember. Very disappointed.

Frustrating

Every time there is an upgrade or maintenance all my settings are lost. I have to select once again my stations and reset the channel numbers. Its happened so many times now that I am looking for a better tv schedule.

Love the app

Great

Good app but could could be better

Its a good app but could you make it so that you can turn on the BluRay player with the remote?

I really wish this was just a remote.

Or at least I could set it to open in remote control mode. Could do with a less ugly icon too. All good apart from that thanks.
